Ongoing Projects

EARPA directly supports or initiates new networks, projects and consortia by bringing interested parties together and facilitating meetings. However, EARPA is not directly carrying out or managing projects, its members do.

This section gives an overview of some EU-funded projects in which EARPA members are involved. This list is far from being exhaustive as EARPA members are involved in a very large number of RTD projects.

Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM)

  • The main goal of the project is to optimise the entire charging process, starting from energy generation all the way to the end user, in order to benefit everyone involved.

  • The EU-funded VERA project will develop, optimise and demonstrate innovative tailpipe retrofit solutions to address particle and NOx emissions, particularly considering NH3 emissions.

  • The SUNRISE project is about safety assurance of Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems. This safety assurance is crucial for their successful adoption and deployment in society.

  • The SELFY project develops a toolbox made up of collaborative solutions with the objective to improve the resilience of the Cooperative Connected Automated Mobility sector.

  • NextETRUCK provides a sustainable solution to bring zero-emission electric medium freight haulage, playing a pioneering role in the decarbonisation of vehicle fleets and accelerating sustainable market replenishment.

  • LENS is a three-year Horizon Europe project assisting enforcement authorities, cities, and regulators to decrease the contribution of L-category vehicles (LVs: mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles and quadri-mobiles) to noise and air pollution.

  • aims to develop a new family of highly energy efficient, cost-effective, modular, compact and integrated wide bandgap (WBG) power electronics solutions for the next generation of battery electric vehicles (BEVs)

  • HELENA proposes a disruptive technology to design batteries with an optimized performance at high currents and stable cycling that will allow the adoption of these batteries in electric vehicles and, especially, in airplanes.

  • The greenSPEED project provides solutions for new sustainable electrode and cell manufacturing processes with reduced energy consumption, lower carbon footprint and ZERO emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

  • Project Development of advanced next-generation solid-state batteries for electromobility applications

  • 3beLiEVe aims to strengthen the position of the European battery and automotive industry in the future xEV market by delivering the next generation of battery cells, designed and made in Europe, for the electrified vehicles market of 2025 and beyond.

2Zero

  • NEMO is a project funded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) to address this issue and demonstrate optimized battery management.

  • LeMesurier aims to establish a common framework for monitoring and generating values for various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the three-layer approach for the Objectives of 2ZERO, assessing the results of partnership projects in the road transport sector

Batt4EU/BEPA

  • Project Manufacturing and assembly of modular and reusable Electric Vehicle battery for environment-friendly and lightweight mobility

  • Reducing emissions and pollution in all aspects of daily life is high on the EU’s agenda. Road transport is also complying with strict emissions regulations, paving the way with electric vehicles (EVs), internal combustion engines and hybrids eco-powertrains.
