Expertise

LEITAT is a private non-profit research centre and aims to collaborate with companies and institutions by adding technological value both to products and processes, and focuses its activity on research, development and industrial innovation. Since its foundation in 1906, LEITAT has prioritised its vocation of proximity by strengthening the principles of professionalism and respect to people and environment. LEITAT takes part in many national and European projects and develops private R&D projects funded by industrial partners. The centre is focused on providing sustainable growth through the promotion of R&D&I and technology transfer, in the context of creating long lasting value for companies satisfying the constantly changing global market demands.

Amongst others, our research expertise covers the following technology areas:

Advanced Materials for vehicles

  • Development of smart textiles and electronic integration

  • Elaboration of green composites based on natural fibres

  • Preparation of new polymers and biopolymers with advance properties

  • R&D on composites and nanocomposites of high performance and sustainable

  • Development of paints, coatings (e.g. anti-corrosive) and inks

  • Materials for batteries (lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, lithium-air, aluminium-ion) and supercapacitors.

  • Lightweight material such as fibers, nanocomposite, bio-materials.

  • Material testing: ageing, mechanical and fire resistance, certification
